The Stafford XMAS party is to be held at Enoggera Bowls club this year.
Agenda
4:30 to 6:00pm – Barefoot bowls with drinks included.
6:00 onwards – 2x course buffet by experience chef, George
(unconfirmed as to wether he is the George from Masterchef)

Stafford AGM 2016
The AGM is planned for 5pm Saturday 5th November 2016.
The Stafford Squash club is run by volunteers, all giving their time for the good of the players, the game and our great squash centre. The AGM gives everyone a chance to review what the club is doing and the chance to influence how things are done. Please attend if you can and let your voice be heard, and perhaps even offer some assistance in the next 12 months.
We will also elect the new committee for the next year, and also new to this year, will be offering other positions where people can also help the club, but can be exempt from the 6-8 meetings per year. (although more than welcome to attend of course)…
The roles available for election are as follows. Over the next few weeks, the full responsibilities and time commitments will we drafted to provide more details around what is involved:
We are also looking for people who can assist with
- bar service (buying and filling fridges)
- food supply (buying food for Thursday)
- event management
- event bar service
- event food service
- club tournament director
- social events and ideas
- finals support
You, as a member of Stafford Squash Club, can make a difference. If you have ideas, time and or enthusiasm, then the club would be keen to have you involved in the committee and or the club. So give the club and its future a thought over the coming weeks and if you are keen to get involved, make sure you get to that AGM.

Stafford Club Championships 2016
The Stafford Club Championships 2016 are Saturday 5th November 2016. The event has been retained as a single day event, in response to the survey completed last year.
The closing date for entry is Thursday 27th October 2016.
1st Division
The 1st division will have the option to play their first round on the week before, during club practise, as all 3x matches will be best of 5 games PAR 11.
Other Divisions
All other divisions will be a round robin event with PAR 11/15 scoring, depending on grade.
Stafford Squash 4-PLAY Doubles 2017
It’s on again, the Stafford Squash Clubs’ infamous Doubles Tournament. This year it’s being held on Saturday 22 July 2017. This is a highly popular event so don’t leave it to the last minute to enter. So grab a partner and sign up soon… Entries close Saturday 15 July.
Tournament Guidelines
- Each match consists of 3 x 10 minute games◦Warm Up: 5 minutes (2 ½ minutes per team)
- 90 second rest between games.
2. A whistle will be used to signify the start/finish of each time period.
3. If the whistle sounds during a rally, stop playing, score prior to rally stands.
4. If a game is tied when the whistle goes, score stands as is
5. Players are required to mark/referee the match following theirs.
6. Scoring is point-a-rally. An unlimited number of points may be played in the allotted time.
7. Players are STRONGLY ADVISED to wear Squash Australia approved protective eyewear.
8. It is COMPULSORY for junior players to wear protective eyewear.
9. All players MUST fill out an official entry form & pay entry fee before playing.
Serving Rules
The first server from the team serving first continues serving until a rally is lost. Then the serving team becomes the receiving team (“hand out”). The nominated first server from the other team now serves, and retains service until that team loses a rally. The process is then repeated for the second servers from each team.
Lets and Strokes
Strokes may be awarded ONLY when the striker is in front of the short line.
Competition Points
1. Competition points will be awarded as follows:◦1 point per game won,
- 1 bonus point for winning the match (i.e. 3 game to 0, 2 games to 1)
2. An undefeated team will be declared the winner.
3. In the event of a tie, the winning team will be the winner of the match between those two teams;
- or the most match points accrued (if more than two teams are tied).
